使いやすくて便利

製品を使ってみた感想： Googleサービスを常用する人、特にandroid装置を利用している人にとしては必要不可欠なサービス。最近meetはgmailと統合したため、会議の開催などにも利用可能。バージョンアップの際により便利になっている。無料版を利用してもalphabet社からのサポートを受けられるので実にうれしい。

良いポイント:

パソコン、タブレット、携帯など、幅広い装置に対応している。また、web版もあるため、基本どんな装置でも簡単にGmailにアクセスできる。容量は他のgoogleサービスと共有しているが、無料版でも15 GBがあるため、メールの利用のみであればかなり十分。さらに他のgoogleサービス(例えば、google drive、google photos、google calendar)と連携できるため、色んな場面で活躍できる。

改善してほしい点:

モバイル版の検索、設定機能が使いにくい。検索結果をフィルタリングしたい場合、オプションコマンドを利用する必要があるが、コマンドを覚えないといけない。競合のOutlookの場合、検索の設定があって、基本プルダウンメニューから選択するだけで詳しい検索ができる。設定に関しては、モバイル版では一部の設定しかできなくて、転送メールサーバーなどの詳細設定はデスクトップ版切り替わらないと設定できない。デスクトップ版に切り替われば設定できるが、デスクトップ版をモバイル装置で表示するとすごく操作し辛い。

GoogleWorkSpaceとの連携が優秀なmailer

良いポイント:

組織のグループウェアでGoogle Work Spaceを採用している場合は、Gmailと各アプリの連携が非常に取りやすい。具体的には、Gmailで受信した航空券や宿泊の予約情報、Zoom等のリモートMTGの招待はGoogleカレンダーに自動で基本情報と日時が登録される。また、GoogleAppsScriptを使用すれば送信予約やフィルターでは設定ができないGmailの自動配信や受信後の処理などを細かい設定をすることもが可能。上記のような連携と合わせて、Gmailをトップ画面として予定、タスク、チャットなど使用頻度が高いアプリへの容易にアクセスが可能となっており、各アプリを個別に立ち上げたり、複数窓を管理しなければならないわずらわしさがなく、1つの画面で多くの業務遂行が可能であることは非常に評価が高い。

改善してほしい点:

基本的には多くの機能において品質は高水準である。しかし、強いてあげるとすれば、アプリの連携、共有方式はまだ伸びしろがある。例えば、受信したメールの添付ファイルを指定フォルダに保存する場合、1つのファイルだけであれば、Gmailから直接Googleドライブへ保存することの利便性があるが、複数ファイルを保存するときには保存先のフォルダ選択を各ファイルごとにしなければならない。そのため、一度すべてをダウンロードし、まとめてアップロードする方が手間がかからないといった状態となっている。また、メール自体の共有方法も、メール転送やPDF化したもの共有など、他のメールサービスと同じものであり、昨今はタスク登録の際にそのメール自体へのリンクが貼れる機能があり、このような機能をチャットやメール、ドキュメントなどで他メンバーにも共有が図れるようになるとよりビジネスのスピード、情報の精度が高まるという期待がある。

良いポイント:

ブラウザの拡張機能や他Googleサービスと連携できるメールサービス。Gmail純正のマルチ送付モードや、拡張機能のGMassやBriskineなどサービスと連携することにより機能的な使用ができる。

改善してほしい点:

単体では機能が不足しているイメージ。5年ぐらい仕様が変わっていない気がする。（スパム仕分けやラベリングなど改善されてる部分はあるとは思う）フィルター機能や、受信箱をもう少し視覚的に使いやすくする（To、CC、BCCごとにボックス分けるなど）改善が必要。スレッド表示も使いづらいし、履歴が長いと返信欄がページ最下部に出てくるので、直近のメッセージを見ながら返信を書くという作業がしづらい。

製品を使ってみた感想： 私にとってgmailは日々の生活に無くてはならないコミュニケーションソフトウェアです。日程の調整を行えば、自動的に文章からカレンダーへ追加機能を提案してくれたり、添付されたファイルをクラウドソフトへ保存できたりと直感的に次のステップを提案してくれる機能は、仕事の効率がとても捗るポイントで大変気に入っています。今後もgmailを中心にコミュニケーションツールとして使用していきます。

良いポイント:

gmailは誰もが使用しているソフトウェアの一つです。その中でも私が一番良い点だと感じている点は全てのデバイスでシームレスに使用できる点が一番優れいている点だと思います。スマートフォン、パソコン、タブレットなどで必ずgmailをインストールして使用していますが、どのデバイスを使用しても、リアルタイムで最新のメールを確認できる点がとても優れていると思います。また、他のメールサービスと一線を隠している点は送信の取り消し機能です。誤ってメールを送信しても一定の時間内であれば送信したメールを取り消しできる機能は、とても気に入っています。また、文章を自動で添削してくれる機能は実は隠れたすごい機能だと思います。文章を書き終えた後に自動で、改善点を提示している点はどのメールソフトよりも精度が高いと感じています。

改善してほしい点:

一つだけ不満があるとすると、iPhoneのmailソフトとの連動性が若干悪い気がします。iphoneのmailアプリにgmailのアカウントを登録して使用しているのですが、メッセージの受信までの時間がgmailソフトアプリ単体で使用した場合に比べて数分レベルで遅い時がよくあります。たかが数分ですが、gmailで２段階認証などでコードを送って承認する時など、すぐに作業ができない時がよくあり地味に不便に感じている機能の一つです。ウェブブラウザーで使用している分には特に問題ないのですが、スマートフォンなどのアプリと連動して使用するとラグがある事が良くない点の一つです。

シンプルで使いやすいが、まだまだ改善できそう

GUIがシンプルで見やすい。携帯アプリ版はわりと軽いため、古い携帯でも快適に使用可能。特にGoogle関連アプリ(カレンダー、連絡先、Google Docsなど)との連携がよく、作業性が抜群。

改善してほしい点:

フィルタリング機能がいまいち。検索に長けているはずのGoogleなのに、Gmailでメールを探す際に苦労する。特に特定ラベルのメールを検索する際、検索演算子(in:trash, in:spamとか)を使わないと、うまく検索できない場合がある。

無料で使えるメールとしては最強

製品を使ってみた感想： 非常に完成度の高いメールシステムで、容量も十分あり、フィルター等の機能も優れているただし、ヘッダ情報等は簡単に見れるようにしてほしい。

サードパーティのメーラーでＩＭＡＰ等で繋ぐと非常に遅いのは気になるあと、メールヘッダや送信者の情報を隠蔽しすぎており、詐欺メールを見破る情報を得る妨げとなるので簡単にヘッダ情報をみれるようにしてほしい
