We received generic responses, little transparency, and virtually no accountability while thousands of dollars that our business depended on remained inaccessible. For a small business, $7,000 is not a minor inconvenience. That money pays employees, covers medical supplies, supports patient care, and keeps the doors open. The fact that a company with Stripe's resources can freeze or remove funds while providing inadequate communication is deeply concerning. If you are a small business owner—especially a veterinary clinic, medical practice, or family-owned company—think very carefully before trusting Stripe with your payment processing.
