Best Open Source ERP that is better than even paid ERPs

the look and feel of ERPNext is very appealing. it is inline with the present best practices, followed in UI/UX.

The software can integrate with some of the open source PLM Tool like Oddo, and open Source MES and IOT tools. this can create a complete opensorce ecosystem for business

An experience using ERPNext in a hardware product startup in the E-Mobility Space

良いポイント:

The fact that the software is well integrated with a wide variety of modules. Other ERP systems would end up with us having a multitude of different softwares each handling their own niche, and all tied together by just Single Sign On. Here, I am able to provide everyone in the company with a login to the ERP system and have access to not just ERP features, but also Project Management, a Wiki and a Learning Managment System.

改善してほしい点:

The HR and Payroll Module can improve quite a bit. The way incentive payments are handled require external programming to design an automated performance based pay. Leaves are also not mutable if a mistake was made during the Leave Policy Assignment which was realised only half-way through the year. This also doesn't allow for a leave policy for a person to be changed in the middle of the leave policy period. This is quite important considering the constant switching of employees between Work From Home, Hybrid and Remote, each of which will have a different leave policy within the company.

This is a fantastic ERP system that offers a lot of flexibility.

ERPNext uses many effective methods used globally and offers established ways to manage common business tasks like creating invoices, monitoring payments, and handling returns. Our company relies on ERPNext to store all our business information, and we don't use any spreadsheets.

Although ERPNext is a global system, it may not include all the features specific to your country. For instance, if you're from Germany, you may find that some features are missing, which could make your work more convenient. However, ERPNext is still valuable and continues to be updated regularly.

Easy to use, and highly customizable, but plauged by bugs.

製品を使ってみた感想： The product has great potential! I wish the frappe org would focus more on all the technical debt, rather than new features. Unfortunately, they generally get paid for new features by customers, not for fixing bad code.

I love the ability to customize forms, while it could be easier, it sure is nice to make changes without code.

Bugs. Unfortunately, open source means that some code is not high quality. Another factor is the poor management of Git pull requests. I've created several bug fixes that languished until deactivated by automated robot after a month or two with little response from product owners. Many of these bugs are quite serious, particularly around the payroll module. Many, less serious and obvious issues, exist over major versions without resolution.

The best choice for teams that have some technical knowledge in house

製品を使ってみた感想： The community is vibrant and fast. There are telegram messenger groups for live communication. There is a super active forum platform. And there is a structured and well maintained github project. If you want to be part of this community, it's easy to get rolling.

The extensibility and flexibility of ERPNext is unrivaled. Every field you create becomes instantly available as an API point in the powerful interface of the ERP software. All relevant core features of an ERP system are mature and help you learn to do it the right way as a company. The team is rigid and consequent in making sure, that this streamlined process of creating opportunities, quotations, sales orders and sales invoices is kept intact which is very healthy and keeps customizations sane.

改善してほしい点:

ERPNext is not yet easy and straight forward to use. If you have no idea of ERP software and you have no technical skills at all this is not for you. I would love to see the team focus more on the UX of the interface and the ease of use for new and very occasional users. The software feels like it's really made for experts and daily users. That said, we have compared ERPNext with Salesforce and SAP and the open source solution really shines in comparison. But having all the ERP world suck at UX does not mean that this is an unsolvable problem. Also the documentation of ERPNext is not job or use case driven and very technical at times. We have started to try to help this. But it's easy to ask and not so easy to deliver. Work in progress ...

Free and Open Source Being a FOSS lover, the best part I see with ERPNext its a truly fully open souce, you will get all the modules available, unlike other companies claim to be open source but they arn't. Communication Tracking of communication of internal team and clients was a big challenge for our organization, the way this is handled in ERPNext is so simple and intuitive. Dynamic Customization One need not to wait for the application developer to change the layout of screen, add or change new fields in transactions, designing of print formats and layouts, all such stuff is managed dynamically. Payment Gateways Using this facility we have noticed an increase of 10% in payment collection from the customer, we use razor pay payment gateway with ERPNext so after creating an invoice one can send payment request to customer and after the customer paid the invoice your account gets updated.

With FOSS projects, its natural to have more support issues, and there is not guarantee of time that when your issue will get addressed.

製品を使ってみた感想： I have been using ERPNext in my business very effectively to track inventory (and serial numbers) across multiple warehouses. I appreciate the ability to repack and to maintain delivery and installation information.

良いポイント:

The Team is constantly improving this software and listening to their user base. I can almost always find an answer to my questions in the community forums. I look forward to new features.

Some functions are designed to address specific needs in foreign countries. It isn't always obvious how to adapt a function to meet your own criteria. Some features are lacking, especially if you are accustomed to batch processing.

Satisfied with performance but expensive for small companies.

I love how easy and speedy we can make quotations for our customers and the professonal look of the documents they get from our company.

My company is very small and sometimes I feel the software is too big for our needs, I believe a light version with cheaper cost could be ideal, in fact with the new pricing structure I will probably need to find another affordable option in the future, these days with our economy suffering due to a post pandemic crisis and the current unneeded war we need to save on everything in order to survive as a company.

製品を使ってみた感想： ERPNext helps a small organisation like ours to grow without the typical limitations. With this comprehensive package everybody internally and externally can interact and add information to allow better communication, reporting and supervision. Data is live and helps avoiding to duplicate, triplicate, same information into different documents. Moreover, it can be customised to suit your best practices, policies and procedures. We have been using ERPNext for more than two years and not willing to go back to the old way!

I love that I can edit forms and customize my PO and Invoices. Really, if you can think of it you can probably do it with this software; it may take some work but there is so much power in this system for what you pay.

Sometimes it can be hard to find the right way to access a certain feature or edit a form but I think that is probably more me than the system.

製品を使ってみた感想： With ERPNext we have a good HRMS and an employee intranet portal. Our large scale accounting system is powered by ERPNext. ERPNext coupled with frappe framework has offloaded a lot of our time and effort that would have gone into building such a system from scratch and helped us focus on our core business challenges.
